Passed peacefully away at his residence, in the presence of his family, on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at age 93. Predeceased by his son John Joseph in January 2008. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 67 years, Eliza (nee Foote); son Freeman; daughters: Sandra Murray (Rick), Rexene Williams (Rod), and Carolyn Bennett (Max); daughter-in-law Elaine Abbott; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 special nieces, Georgina Abbott and Emma Kennedy; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to his caregivers for their loving support and kindness. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Friday and Saturday, August 23 and 24, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Cremation to follow. Funeral service to be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Monday, August 26, at 11a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
