Peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Souris Hospital on Saturday, August 30, 2008, of Melvin Eugene MacDonald of Souris, aged 73 years. Beloved father of Jean (Bob Lyons) of Souris, Patricia (Leo Doucette) and Gaylene (Jeff Doucette) of Charlottetown and their mother Helen MacDonald of Souris. Survived and sadly missed by his grandchildren Steven and Victoria MacDonald, William Lyons, Kyla MacDonald, Adriana and Zachary Doucette. Loving brother of Arnold (Jean), Leonard (Ann), Kenny (Frances), Bernadette MacLean of Montague, Walena (Carl) Doucette of Charlottetown and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Eileen (nee Bailey) MacDonald, brother-in-law Daniel MacLean and nephew Arnie MacDonald. Resting at the Dingwell Funeral Home, Souris, for visiting hours on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral to be held Wednesday morning from St. Mary’s Church, Souris, with funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
