The family of Clare Popovich of Grande Cache, Alta., wish to announce her passing on Aug. 25, 2013 in Grande Cache. Clare was 91 years old.
Left to mourn her loss and cherish all that she was, are her loving children, Jan (Steven) Dart of Riverside, Calif., John (Diane) Popovich of Cochrane, Alta., Kathie (Harry) Ehler of Dartmouth, N.S., Cynthia (Michael) Daneault of Grande Cache, Alta., Rosalie (Bruce) Gier of Portland, Oregon, Wendy (Murray) Abtosway of Devon, Alta. and James Derek (Barbara Monk) Popovich of Abbotsford, B.C. Clare leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Christopher, Nicole, Michelle, Melissa, Sabrina, Natasha, Tanya, Janita, Jason, Christine and Lindsay. Also surviving Clare are her 15 treasured great-grandchildren; as well her siblings, Theodore Porter, Joseph (Loretta) Porter, Neil (Winnie) Porter, Michael (Peggy) Porter all of Ontario, Charles (Sylvia) Porter of Florence, N.S. and Carlotta (Tots) Cordy of Florence, N.S. Clare leaves behind numerous relatives and many good friends.
Clare was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, John, as well as her parents, Theodore and Rose Porter; daughter, Jacqueline and son, Theodore; brothers, Colin and John and sisters, Rosalie, Rebecca and Sarah Ann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Grande Cache, Alta. with Fr. Mark McGee officiating. Burial follows this service and Clare will be laid to rest in the Grande Cache Cemetery.
