It is with great sadness and a life time of memories that the family of the late Eileen Kawaja announce her sudden death at the WMRH on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the age of 88 years.

Left to mourn a life well lived are her children Mary Catherine (Brian Sheppard), Ted (Sharon) of Corner Brook,, Margaret (David Humphreys) Halifax, Tony (Angela) in Toronto, Rob (Maureen) in CBS; her twelve grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, special nephew Bill Kennedy and her life long friends; her brothers Jack in ON and Ron in NS as well as her sister in law Genevieve Kawaja Orrell in NS.

Predeceased by her husband Frederick in December 2005, son Terrance in September 1972 as well as her parents Denis and Mary (Lamb) Meaney, her siblings Doris, Rev. Father Frank, Gerald, Sister Clotilde and Catherine.

Eileen–Mom, Sittie, Aunt, sister, Lee Lee– will be missed for her love of life and her fine cooking, she leaves a treasury of beautiful quilts, paintings and sad hearts with happy memories. We will be receiving family and friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Wednesday, August 28 from 7 – 9 pm and again on Thursday, August 29 from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, August 30 at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Holy Redeemer and Immaculate Conception with Rev. Father Ambrose Hynes officiating followed by interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations maybe made to a charity of one’s choice.
