McALLISTER, FAUSTINA - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved mother Faustina McAllister of Saint John, widow of the late Elmer T. McAllister which occurred at home with her family by her side on Thursday August 29, 2013. Born in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia on May 1, 1921, She was a daughter of the late Earle and Maxine (Willigar) Harvie. Faustina was the last surviving member of her immediate family, She was predeceased by her parents,her husband Elmer, two brothers, Jack Harvie and Archibald Harvie, and two sisters, Donna McMillan and Clea Hughes. Earlier in her life Faustina enjoyed Bingo, Knitting, Sewing, and Harness Racing with her husband Elmer. She was a long time member of Carleton kirk United Church. She loved people watching at the Mall and McDonald's but most of all she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Bev) Bower, Clea (Edgar) Vye, and Judy (Bruce) Latham , all of Saint John, nine grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Bower, of Saint John, Danny (Ana) Bower, of Saint John, Stephanie (Derek) Wright, of Fort Saskatchewan, Lindsey (Derek) Vautour, of Dartmouth, N.S., Matthew (Erica) Bower, of B.C., Alex (Raquel) Vye, of Moncton, Tom (Nancy) Vye, of Toronto, Lee Arthur (Sam), of New Hampshire, Bruce Latham, of Saint John, thirteen great grandchildren, and several nieces.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, N.B. with visiting on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11 am from Carleton Kirk United Church. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation or the N.B. Lung Assoc. would be appreciated by the family. To place an online condolence please visit www. Castlefh.com .
