Parsons, Leon “Man” – 90, of Parrsboro passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Joseph and Eva (Forbes) Parsons. Leon was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of Legion Branch #45, Parrsboro. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Lorena Lorette; a daughter, Karen Parsons (David Dean), Toronto; sons, Douglas (Dorothy), Parrsboro; David, Bridgewater; Michael (Sandra), South Brook; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Roy. Visitation 6-8 p.m. on Friday [August 30, 2013] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral service 11 a.m. on Saturday [August 31, 2013] at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, Parrsboro, Father Phil Thibodeau officiating. Burial in church cemetery.
