The death occurred peacefully, with family by his side, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home, on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, of Borden Merrill Hill, beloved partner of Helen Mallard, of Charlottetown and formerly of Mayfield, age 64. Borden is survived by his sisters, Joyce MacEwen, Mary Cousins (Wayne) and Dianne Smith (Garth); brothers, Gerald (Carol), Barry, Boyd (Karen) and Glenn (Heather); sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Doucette, Margaret Bruce and Shirley Mallard; brothers-in-law, Walter Mallard and Francis Mallard (Pauline); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Ira and Catherine (MacKinnon) Hill; brother, Reville; and sister, Sandra. Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Friday, Sept. 6, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at Central Queen's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. Interment in New Glasgow Cemetery.
