It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Burke on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Louisbourg, she was the daughter of Isabelle (MacKeigan) Kennedy, Louisbourg, and the late Howard Kennedy.
She was a wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Brenda is survived by her daughters, Tammy (Christopher) MacMullin, Alberta, Angela (Chris Kelly), Catalone; six wonderful grandchildren, Tyler, Autumn, Jenna, Brianna, Tarryn and Ava. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Campbell, Alberta; brothers, Jeffrey, Karmen, Kirby, Allan, Derrick (Catherine), Byron, Darryl, Darcy and Scott; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Kennedy and nephew, Simon.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, from 3-4 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. A memorial service to follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with with Fr. Raj. officiating. Interment to follow in Stella Maris Cemetery, Clarks Road.
