GEORGE, Harold Wilfred – 63, Great Village, passed away peacefully, with his children at his side, on Wednesday evening, September 4, 2013, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, following a short illness. Born December 27, 1949, he was a son of the late Laurie and Dorothy (MacLean) George. Harold worked for many different companies in the construction industry. He also enjoyed hunting and gardening. His “green thumb” seemed to make things grow twice as fast and he always had abundant vegetable and flower gardens. Harold is survived by his children, Crystal Rushton, Debert; Stacey Rushton, Debert; Justin George, Great Village; grandchildren, Robert, Janine, Paige, Gabrielle, Wyatt; several siblings, nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Trudy Ann (Rushton). Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, where Harold’s family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2013. Private family interment will be held in Folly Mountain Cemetery. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Harold’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
