Gladys Howe
HOWE, GLADYS EILEEN - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gladys Eileen Howe of the Loch Lomond Villa which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 8, 2013. Born October 3rd, 1922, in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Wilmot and Muriel (Almon) Howe. She was a talented seamstress and worked for Eastern Furriers and Everett’s Furriers, until retirement. She enjoyed knitting, needle point, crocheting and TV Bingo. Gladys is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Wilmot W. E. Howe (Grace) and sister and best friend Elizabeth “Betty” Howe of Loch Lomond Villa; several nieces, nephews and special nieces and nephews who were much like her own children; David Howe (Kathie), Wayne Howe (Dianne), Jo-Anne Chiasson (Mark Latimer), Sherry Melanson (Stephen), Barbara Horgan (Peter), Pamela Beman (Danny), Fran McDevitt (Billy) and Steven Howe (Sabra) all of Saint John; several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Gladys was predeceased by her sisters Lillian Gallant, Norma Stackhouse, Verna Jones, niece Ellen Howe and nephew Kevin Howe.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road with visitations on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 13th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in Gladys’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, The Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
