At the Palliative Care Unit of Community Hospital, O'Leary, on Monday, September 9, 2013, of Lorraine John Gallant, Howlan, aged 90, husband of the late Catherine "Lynn" Mary (nee Perry). Born in Woodstock August 1, 1923, he was the son of the late John Frank and Celina Gallant. Dear father to Theresa MacDonald (Charles Stewart), Summerside; Elaine (Eldon Ramsay), Howlan; Urban (Debbie Bernard), Kensington; Marjorie, Charlottetown; John (Sheila), Howlan; Gerarda (Blair) MacDonald, Stratford; and Ellen (Jim) Foster, Union Road. Loving grandfather to Greg, Cory, Lynn Anne, Kelly, Darcey, Brittany, Katie, James, Grace and great-grandchildren Christopher, Bradley, Nathan, Emma, Lily, Alex and Jax. Lorraine is also survived by brothers Joe (Minnie), Tignish; Gene, Charlottetown; Arnett (Kathleen), Toronto; and sister Eileen Wedge, Howlan; sisters-in-law Beatrice Perry, Howlan; Leona Perry, Summerside; Doris Perry, Saint John; and Eileen Gallant, Charlottetown. Predeceased by his first wife Rita (1951), second wife Lynn (2010) and sisters Esther and Bernice MacLellan.
Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary, with visiting hours Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and until 10 a.m. Friday. Funeral mass at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Woodstock, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. In memory of Lorraine, memorials to the O'Leary Community Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit or St. Anthony's Cemetery Fund would be appreciated.
