It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mildred McCarthy announce her passing on Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 87 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Rosalieann (Richard) Musseau, Frances (Gregory) Gillard and Joseph “Gerry” McCarthy; three grandsons: Doug (Karen) Gillard, Cory (Marie) Gillard and Junior (Angela) McCarthy; one granddaughter Angie (Derrick) Cooper; seven great grandchildren: Charlee, Chloe, Rebecca, Sidney, Kalum, Alyssa and Aaron; one great great grandson Camden Sheppard; sisters and brothers: Sadie, Bernard (Renee), Joseph, Kevin, Jerome (Mildred) and Marie (Gilbert); special friend Jerome McCarthy; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, parents: Theresa and William Bourgeois, brothers: Gerald, Francis, Harold and Leon, sisters: Margaret, Alvina, Rose and Alita. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Wednesday evening from 7-9:00 p.m. and Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 20th at 10:30 A.M. from Our Lady Star of the Sea, Benoit’s Cove with the interment to follow at the church cemetery. Sister Mildred Chabassol officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
