Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Saturday, September 14, 2013, Gertrude R. Butt of Carbonear, age 73 years. Predeceased by parents: Harold and Bridget King. Left to mourn, husband: Hayward; two sons: Wade (Gail), Ontario and Brian (Mary), Carbonear; daughter-in-law: Sharon Murphy, Carbonear; six grandchildren: Chad (Jackie), Brad (Amanda), Inga, Amanda, Adam and Aimee; four great-grandchildren: Krystal, Sarah, Chloe and Kyley; one brother: John (Bridget) King, St. John’s; two sisters: Eloise (Glen) Hynes, Mount Pearl and Marilyn (Dave) Puddicombe, St. John’s; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Brian Colbourne conducted the funeral service on Tuesday, September 17 at Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice or to the Jim Shields Memorial Gardens, Veteran’s Miller Centre, St. John’s.
