SLOAN, HAZEL VIOLET - Hazel V. Sloan of Harvey, York Co., NB passed away September 18, 2013 at her home. Born at Scotch Settlement, NB in 1941, she was a daughter of the late Elbridge and Christina (Parker) Munn. Hazel enjoyed her flower garden, picking berries, making wreaths and knitting. She loved her family who was all very special to her. She is survived by her husband, Garnet Sloan; her children, Heather Walton (Ronnie), Patsy Pye (George), Kim Thompson (Shaughn) and Rob Sloan (Kayla); twelve grandchildren, Matt, Mya, Ryan, Brittany, Josh, Jesse, Courtney, Damian, Kastin, Marcus, Jesse and Lacey; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Alma Hoyt (Alton), Ruby Howland (David) and Beatrice Yerxa; three brothers, Arthur Munn (Patricia), Gary Munn (Edna) and Mac Munn (Roberta); her mother-in-law, Ada Sloan; a daughter-in-law, Marina Brewer; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Hazel was predeceased by her first husband, Leonard Brewer; a son, Lenny Brewer; two sisters, Irene Hoyt and Marjorie Merritt and her father-in-law, Gordon Sloan.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. George Clark and Rev. John MacMullin officiating. Interment at Sunny Bank Cemetery, Magaguadavic, NB.
