Laura Wyse
WYSE, LAURA - The death of Laura Wyse (nee Teakles) of Petitcodiac, occurred at the Moncton City Hospital on September 18, 2013. Born in Portage Vale on July 25, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Byron and Rose (nee Merry) Teakles and wife of the late Robert N. Wyse. Laura was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church and a member of Helen Hahn WMS. She was the administrator for many years at Kodiak Place. She loved to cook, especially baking cookies. She stayed connected with everyone through phone calls and cards. Laura was a housewife who loved her family, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her friend Margaret and her niece Carol. She leaves behind her daughter Ruth Steeves (Gerald); her grandchildren: Susan Christmas (Reg), Jane Wyse, Randy Doucet (Michelle) and Brodie Steeves; her great-grandchildren: Maddison and Nikki Doucet, and their mother Erin; Lindsay, Nicholas and Christopher Stewart; and Sara and Rachel Christmas; her sister Alice (Delbert) Bannister; her brother Kenneth Teakles; and her granddaughter-in-law Sandra; as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Laura was predeceased by her step-son Robert Wyse; her grandson Robert Doucet; and her sisters: Charlotte Steeves and Dorothy Collrin. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac (506-756-3361), from where visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 6 to 9 pm; the funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Petitcodiac Baptist Church with Rev. David Woodworth and Rev. Rick Thomas presiding. Interment will take place at Portage Vale Cemetery.
