VAN DER POL, LENA ADRIANA - It is with great sadness that the family of Lena van der Pol announces her unexpected passing on Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 at the Oromocto Public Hospital while vacationing in Canada. She was born in Enschede, Holland on November 23rd, 1950. Leny was employed by the Public Library in Enschede, Holland at the age of 15 and continued working at the same location until her sudden passing. Leny enjoyed travelling to different locations, her favorite was coming to Canada to visit her beloved sister, Berendina. Leny is survived by her beloved pets, Dakota (dog) and Polleke (rabbit); her sister, Berendina Gauvreau (Claude); nephew, Alain Gauvreau (Kim); niece, Nicole Vautour (Richard); great nephews, Andrew and Jesse Gauvreau; great-nieces, Natasha and Andrea Vautour; great-great-niece, Hydee Vautour; first cousins, Arend Jansen (Woutje) and Riekie Jansen; second cousins, Richard Menno and Edwin Wilco. Leny will be dearly missed by Dakota, Imari Mushu, Tabitha and Chai-Lai. Lena van der Pol is predeceased by her parents, Wim van der Pol and Marie van der Pol (Jansen) of Enschede, Holland. Lena's family would like to thank the NB Ambulance Service, Oromocto Fire Department, Dr. Caines and the Oromocto nursing staff, Gerard Kocx, General Manager of Public Library in Enschede, Holland, Dutch Counsell and the Dutch Embassy in Ottawa for the outstanding service that they provided.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Oromocto Funeral Home. Following cremation, her ashes will be distributed as per her wishes at a later date. www.oromoctofh.com
