BROOKS, DONALD - After a courageous battle with cancer, Donald Brooks, loving husband of Cindy (Melanson) Brooks, passed away with his family by his side, Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Born in Saint John, NB, he is the son of Maurice and Muriel Brooks and spent most of his growing years in Grand Bay-Westfield. Donnie was a wonderful family man with a big heart and caring spirit. He started his career at Irving Oil Ltd. And spent over 20 years there before finishing the last 5 years at Exxon Mobil as a credit analyst. He loved to cook, his dogs, camping with Cindy and the kids, music and NASCAR. His greatest love though was time spent at home with his family. Donnie’s love of life and family were immeasurable and he will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents and wife he is survived by his children Jamie and Sarah of Saint John, NB; brother Bill Brooks of Quispamsis, NB., and several nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his brother Douglas.
Arrangements under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation Saturday from 6 to 8 pm and Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 23, 2013 from the funeral home Chapel at 10 am followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment at a later date.
