Peacefully and surrounded by her family, the death occurred at the Garden Home on Saturday, September 13, 2008, of Evelyn Ann Gotell (nee McCarron) of Mount Herbert and formerly of St. Mary’s Road, Sturgeon, age 80 years. Left to mourn her passing are her devoted and loving husband of 58 years, Hugh Gotell, and six children. She was a beloved mother to Charlene Howard (John A. MacLean), Joanne Packman (Jim), Maureen Griffin (George), Charlie Gotell (Cheryl), Leonard Gotell (Barb), Michael Gotell (Janice), N.B. Evelyn will be greatly missed by her 10 grandchildren: Lori Ann Ferrish (Trent), Stephen Howard, Matthew and Amy Packman, Jaime Lynn and Jeffrey Griffin, Philip and Julie Gotell, Kelsey and Justin Gotell. She was a new great-grandmother for one month to Nolan Jeffrey Ferrish. She is survived by her sister, Sister Dorothy McCarron, of Notre Dame Convent. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Lillian Lavandier and Margaret McGregor, brother Charles McCarron and her parents Charles and Annie McCarron (nee Mahar). Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford, until Tuesday, Sept. 16, then transferred to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Stratford, for funeral mass at 10 a.m. No visiting hours by family request. Memorial donations may be made in Evelyn’s memory to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Fund or the Alzheimer Society of P.E.I. Interment in the parish cemetery.
