DEBAIE, Rachel Margaret – 94, Parkland Estates, Halifax, formerly of Truro, Colchester County, and Robinson’s Corner, Chester, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born March 12, 1919, in Robinson’s Corner, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Rachel (McInnis) Zinck. Rachel is survived by her sisters, Alice Sheridan, Truro, formerly of South Maitland; Lillian Harvey, Parrsboro; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Douglas; son and daughter in infancy; sister, Fannie Millett; brothers, Jack, Arthur, George, Henry “Peter”, Wilfred “Jim”, Fred. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2013, The Reverend Lori Ramsey officiating. Reception will follow. Private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rachel’s memory to a charity of choice are welcomed.
