
Geneva Mary Ferguson
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Geneva Mary Ferguson (GiGi), 88, of Amherst on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Gables Lodge with her loving family by her side.
Born February 16, 1925 in Joggins, NS, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Jane (Bigney) Roberts.
GiGi enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, cooking and making crafts. One of her favourite pastime was to visit the mall with Fergie.
She had a great sense of humour and was always ready for a prank.
Her great love for her family and friends was shown through her generosity of food.
GiGi will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her, husband, Seymour Ferguson; daughters, Gloria (Tom) Laurette, Nancy Van De Wiel (Robert Veinot), Linda Reid and Anna Varner all of Amherst; step son, Brian (Dianne) Ferguson, Amherst; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; brother, Charlie (June) Roberts, Amherst; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
GiGi was predeceased by her first husband, Ralph Kralicek; step son, Bruce Ferguson; brothers, Herman, Emmerson and Orel.
Cremation has taken place.
A time of visitation for GiGi’s family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 1-2 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Deacon Howard Gotell officiating all in Campbell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906).
Interment will take place in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in GiGi memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
