CORMIER, OLIVIER - 1925-2013 - Olivier Cormier, 87, passed away on Thursday October 3rd, 2013 at his residence in Haute-Aboujagane. Born on December 22nd, 1925 in Haute-Aboujagane, he was the son of the late Edmond and Zelica (Boudreau) Cormier. Prior to his retirement, Olivier worked at the main shop for 35 years with CNR as a forklift operator. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, was a member with the Club d’Age d’Or in Haute-Aboujagane and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #33 of Shediac. He was an overseas veteran of the Second World War serving with the Royal Canadian Army North Shore Regiment in England, Belgium, Germany and France. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Camilla (LeBlanc); 10 children: Francis (Sylvia) of Saint-André-LeBlanc, Abbé (Gloria) of Grand-Barachois, Carole Story (Andy) of Grand-Prairie, AB, Aldoria (Felice), Yolande Gallant (Normand), Omer (Louise), Lauta Roy (Lawrence), Angele MacLean (Ronald), Gélas (Diane) and Clarence (Lise) all of Haute-Aboujagane; one sister, Stella Gautreau of Moncton; 23 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephew. He was predeceased by four sisters: Pélagie, Irène, Marie-Anne and Sara; three brothers: Léandre, Mélas and Dominique; granddaughter, Renée; daughter in-law, Léa (Goguen) Cormier.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm ONLY. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacré Coeur R.C. Church, Haute-Aboujagane, on Monday, October 7th, 2013 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In memory of Olivier, a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Sacré Coeur cemetery, Haute-Aboujagane would be appreciated.
