Passed peacefully away after a brief illness on October 4, 2013, Joseph Dowden age 79. Predeceased by his infant son Craig (April 1963) and daughter Joanne (December 2012). Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 53 years Ida (Blackwood), his daughters: Jacquie Murphy (Gerard), Kim (Ron Gollop), special grandchildren: Andrew and Meghan Murphy, whom he loved and cherished more than life, sister Maureen Clenighan of Ottawa and sisters-in-law: Lorna Jamieson (Bas) and Elizabeth Dowden. Also leaving to mourn many nieces, nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Sunday, October 5 and Monday, October 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of Peace Parish.
