RIVERVIEW, NB / PICTOU, NS – Joan Barbara MacKay, 79, of Riverview, NB, and formerly of Murray Road, Pictou County, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Stubbard and Bessie (Kilcup) Sweet.
Joan will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Donald; daughters; Gina Schembri (Chuck) of Riverview, Kelly Hustler (Ron) of Brampton; sons, Donald (Judy) of Cambridge ON; David of Brampton, ON, Gary (Lori) of Kingston, ON; sisters, Jackie Potter of Halifax, Jean (Clifford) Hazel, of Centreville; brother, Leroy (Anna) Sweet of Colorado Springs; sister-in-law, Shirley Sweet, Halifax; nine grandchildren: Ciji, Chuckie, Ryan, Mandie, Shawn, Justin, Stephanie, Krysta and Lindsay; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Monday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. There will be no service and burial will be at a later date in Seaview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the S.P.C.A.
