Heaven Has Another Angel

With great sorrow and regret, we announce the passing of Helen Maria (Vincent) Anstey, on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Mom was a wonderful wife, mother, ­grandmother, sister, aunt and a good friend to all who knew her. She was well known for her bread, cinnamon buns (yum-yum) and lemon sponge cake. Helen was predeceased by her ­soulmate, her husband Cyril; her ­grandparents: Joseph & Ellen (Alexander) Vincent, parents: Francis & Mary (Walsh) Vincent, brothers: Ron and Gerald Vincent, sister, Mary Goodyear and niece, Karen Henderson. Helen is ­survived by her children: Gary, Darren and Rosellena Anstey, Ken (Linda) Anstey, Gerry (Sherry) Anstey, Francis (Denise) Anstey, Shirley (Mike) Jesso and Joy (Dave) Webster; her beloved grandchildren: Philip, Patrick, Jeremy and Zachary Anstey, Michael and Sarah Jesso and Tyler Webster; her siblings: Cathy (Larry) Barry, Shirley (Albert) O’Brien, Francis (Lorraine) Vincent, Tom (Sherry) Vincent, Art (Violet) Vincent and Bernard (Jean) Vincent; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, their ­families and friends. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, on Friday from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12 at 10:30 a.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue, with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Thank you to all the nurses, doctors and caregivers at the Western Memorial Palliative Care Unit who took such good care of our mom. Thanks to all who visited. Mom felt privileged to have so many who cared about her. As expressions of sympathy, flowers ­graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
