It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Elizabeth Aucoin on Friday, Oct. 11, at Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford.
Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Anne (Roach) LeBlanc. Elizabeth was a devout member of St. Joseph’s Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carol (John) O’Neill, Sydney River, Leona (Mike) Colijns, Calgary Alta.; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Leo; son, Robert; brothers, William, George, Daniel; sisters, Anna, Mary, Alice, Lucy and Agnes.
Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 14, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines. The Rev. Daniel Boudreau will be officiating. The interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
