YOUNG, BEATRICE PAULINE - Absent from the Body - Present with the Lord - At 96 years of age, with peace in her heart, our precious mother and Gram, Beatrice Pauline Young of Harvey, York County, NB, passed into the presence of her Lord at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home on October 16, 2013. She was born at Thomaston Corner, NB on April 20, 1917, one of eight children of the late William and Janie (Moffitt) Gillespie. She married the love of her life, Arthur Young in 1934. Beatrice faithfully attended the services at the Meeting Room at Thomaston Corner since early childhood. Her faithful Christian virtues will be remembered by all those who knew her and her prayers and presence will be surely missed. She is survived by her son, David Young (Sheila), Nackawic, NB; son-in-law, Phillip Christie, Harvey, NB; daughter Maxine Young, Saint John, NB; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Young, Nackawic, NB, Jamie Young, Leduc, AB and Jennifer Young (Richard Kaine), Fredericton, NB and a great granddaughter, Hilary Young, Fredericton, NB; her sister, Dawn Marie Carr (Edgar), Millinocket, Maine; sisters-in-law, Josie Gillespie, Harvey, NB and Madelon Gillespie, Thomaston Corner, NB and several nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Arthur, in 1991, her daughter, Shirley Christie in 2011, her sisters Florence McCavour in 1974 and Margaret Wilkin in 1998 and her brothers, Roy Gillespie in 1994, Allan Gillespie in 1995, Gordon Gillespie in 2003 and Willard Gillespie in 2013.
Resting at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB with visiting hours on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Mr. Wally Dear officiating. Interment will follow at Harvey Settlement Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Beatrice, the family has suggested the Harvey Settlement Cemetery or a charity of the donors choice.
