It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Gordon Payne announces his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in Corner Brook, NL, on Tuesday, October 15th, 2013, at the age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Caroline of 60 years, his daughter; Serena (Joe) Patey, his sons; Terrence, & Clement (Juanita), all of Cow Head, NL, his grandchildren; Erica (Edward) Alcock, of Corpus Christi, TX, Patrick (Dawn) Patey, Brampton, ON, Sheldon (Sara) Payne, St. John’s NL, Christopher (Carol-Ann) Payne of Kingston, ON, & Jonathan Payne of St. John’s, NL, his great grandchildren; Grayson Payne, of Kingston, ON, Gavin Patey, of Brampton, ON, & Sophie Payne of St. John’s, NL, his brother; Walter Bugden, his sisters; Mrs. Vivian House & Mrs. Tillie Guzwell, and his sister-in- law, Mrs. Blen Hutchings, also leaves a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family & friends. Charles was predeceased by his parents; Edward & Catherine Payne & his biological mother; Mrs. Margaret Payne, his parents-in-law; Augustus & Amelia Payne, & his brothers & sisters. The family will be receiving family and friends from St. Mary's Anglican Church in Cow Head, NL, on Thursday, October 17th, 2013, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm, and continuing on Friday October 18th, 2013, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm, where also the funeral service will take place from on Saturday, October 19th, 2013, at 3 pm, with Rt. Rev. Leonard Whitten officiating with the burial to follow at the Church Cemetery in Cow Head, NL.
