The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, of Donald James MacSweyn of Summerside and formerly of Apple Hill, ON, aged 89 years. Donald was born on December 13, 1923, in Apple Hill, ON., to his late parents, John and Beatrice (nee Neville) MacSweyn. Beloved husband of Joyce (nee Dapp) MacSweyn and loving father of Cheryl (Richard) Carrier of Canmore, AB., Kendal (Debra) MacSweyn of Fort Augustus, and Mindy (Geoff) Charlton of Summerside. Also survived by his brother Ewen (Jean) MacSweyn of Moncton, N.B., and grandchildren Trevor, Brandon, Mandy, Jayden and Lyndsay, and great-grandchild Gideon MacSweyn. Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his sisters Phyllis (Alex) Clunie and Jean (Bill) Chapman. By personal request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held.
