Moir, Graham Ross, 80, of Windsor, Hants County, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at home. Born in Dartmouth on April 10, 1933. He was the son of the late James Ireland Jr. and Emma Margaret (Richardson) Moir. Graham met Joan at the Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto and they immediately clicked and three months later they got married and moved to North Bay, Ontario. They later moved to Nova Scotia and took over Moir’s Express. In 1972 they moved to Windsor and owned and operated Valley Transfer Ltd. until 1990 at which time Graham retired. He soon got bored of retirement and bought the Red Fox Tavern in Halifax. In 1999 he retired again for a short time and then started up a small second hand furniture store but soon afterwards for health reasons he was forced to retire for the final time. Surviving are his wife, the former Joan Shaw; daughter, Lorene Dimock, Windsor; special grandson, Mitchell; his faithful companion, Skipper; brothers, Lorne (Audrey), Dartmouth; Lloyd (Bernice), Peterborough, Ontario; Bruce, Mount Uniacke; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Irvin, Kenneth, Austin, Gerald, and Burris; sisters, Dorothy, Muriel Howe, Melita Weeks , Marion MacBurnie, and Helen Brumm. Graham’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Dr. Jim Leahy, Dr. Benjamin Heisler and the Victorian Order of Nurses for the excellent care he received over the years. There was no visitation by request. A graveside service was held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in the Maplewood Cemetery, King Street, Windsor, Rev. Bill Gibson officiated. Donations in memory were requested to be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society or the Victorian Order of Nurses.
