DOIRON, DELINA - Leominster - Delina M. Doiron, 67, of Leominster, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 in Sterling Village after a courageous battle with cancer. Delina was born in New Brunswick, Canada on June 17, 1946, a daughter of the late Denis and Melendee (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. She was a woman with a warm heart and loving spirit who spent her life caring for and raising many children for friends and family. Delina was a talented seamstress who was known to be able to fix anything. She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Parish in Leominster and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne’s. Delina was an avid Boston Sports fan, often fashioning team jerseys in her favorite color, pink, in support of breast cancer awareness. She leaves her children, Norman J. Doiron of Leominster, Denise M. Valliere and her husband Keith of Leominster; grandchildren, Tyler and Alyssa Valliere, Blake, Brice, Breck, and Brighana Doiron; five brothers, Alderic LeBlanc and wife Diane of Hudson, Raymond LeBlanc and wife Marie of Orange, Michel LeBlanc and wife Joan of Waltham, Gerald LeBlanc and wife Christine of Lowell, Edgar LeBlanc and wife Tina of Marlboro; four sisters, Andrea Aucoin and husband Joseph of Waltham, Marie Lelievre and husband Rene of Waltham, Anna Nowlan and husband John of New Brunswick, Canada, Rita Aucoin and husband Sam of Hudson, many nieces, nephews and a large extended family. Delina was predeceased by her loving husband of 31 years, Gerald J. Doiron in 2001.
The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Saturday, October 26, with a Mass in St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster at 10AM. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 25, from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Saint Cecilia’s Restoration Fund, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
