It was in Montreal where he met the love of his life, Doris. They married on January 21st, 1956. Tom retired in Oromocto from the military after 28 years of service. After retiring, Tom went to Community College and obtained his small appliance repair certificate and worked for Sears for 10 years. Once Tom and Doris both retired they spent many wonderful years enjoying life. They loved to spend time with all their friends and families in the summer months and then head to Saddlebag, Florida where they had another great group of friends. Tom loved to curl, golf, play bridge, host pool and lawn dart parties, hang out with his buddies at the Liar’s Den, and tell lots and lots of jokes! Tom was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. He loved his grandchildren dearly and was very proud of all their accomplishments. He was especially happy to see his first great-grandson recently. Tom’s love of life was something admired by all and aspired to by most who knew him. Tom was a loyal friend and will be dearly missed by friends and family alike. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of the Emergency Room and ICU at the DECH. They were extremely professional, compassionate and caring during this very difficult time. We would also like to thank the Air Canada flight crew, helping and caring passengers for all their assistance on the flight from Toronto to Fredericton when Tom became ill.
