FLOGERAS, JAMES - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of James “Jimmy” Demetrios Flogeras, loving husband of Linda (Casey) Flogeras, which occurred on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born 1946 in Greece, he was the son of the late George and Metaxia (Dacres) Flogeras. Upon his arrival to Saint John in 1968, James attended UNB Saint John and Fredericton where he obtained a Civil Engineering Degree. Following his graduation he began his 35 year long career with the City of Saint John, retiring in 2010. Jimmy was a true and honest gentleman who will always be in our hearts forever. He had a great passion for windsurfing; he also enjoyed kayaking, swimming, soccer, formula one racing and spending time outdoors. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife Linda. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, step-father and step-grandfather and was always very proud of their accomplishments, whether they were big or small. He was very grateful for his family, Doctors, Nurses and Father Theodore for being by his side during his long and hard journey, before he was taken into the hands of the Lord, whom he loved so much. In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by his son Mike Flogeras of Edmonton, AB; daughters Christina (Josh) Varner of Fredericton and Jenna Flogeras of NL; step-daughters Cindy Casey and Michelle (Paul) O’Brien both of Saint John; brothers Paul (Liz) of Quispamsis, Peter (Eleni) of Greece and Vasili (Flora) of NF; sisters Voula (Theodore) Likourgiotis, Eleni (John) Messerlian and Maria (Elie) Elmajian all of Rothesay and Sophia Flogeras of Saint John; step-grandchildren Brett and Brandon; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery.
