It is with heavy hearts and fond memories we announce the passing of Joseph Campbell, 79, of Reserve Mines. Joseph passed away on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Hest) Campbell.
Joseph was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines. He was employed in the construction field for 35 years. He was a quiet and gentle man, who always put family first and will be sadly missed by all.
Joseph is survived by his daughters, Colleen (Hughie) Ellsworth, Ann (Bobby) Mills; cherished grandchildren, Michael Ellsworth and Amanda Mills; sister, Marie (Barry) Irvine and sister-in-law, Helen Campbell.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Leone (MacMullin), brothers, Roddie, Charlie, Bernie, Thomas, John, sisters, Catherine, Betty, special nephew, Christopher Butts.
There will be no visitation for Joseph Campbell. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at St. St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
