Peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home, with his family by his side, on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, the family announce the passing of Gerald Tierney, in his 78th year.
Loving husband of Eleanor (McQuaid) for 57 years. Lovingly remembered by his seven children, Geralyn (Noel) Doucette, Kenneth (Connie Condon), Kathleen (Peter) Coady, Emmett (Jane Heaney), Mary (Scott) Holroyd, Joanne Tierney and Allan (Pam Gallant). Remembered by his 19 grandchildren, Angela and Jonathan Doucette, Michael, Mark, Melissa and Matthew Tierney, Adam, Kayla, Jenna and Brandon Coady, Ronan and Evin Tierney, Justin and Katie Holroyd, Jasmine, Joelle, Julie and Jamie Tierney, Emily Tierney; and by one great-grandchild, Ella Tierney. Survived by his sister, Mary Carragher; brother, James Tierney; sisters-in-law, Ida Tierney, Josie Tierney and Kay McQuaid; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Bernadette McQuaid; Elaine and Gavin Toole.
Predeceased by brothers, Joe Tierney; sister-in-law, Dorothy Tierney; brother-in-law, Louis Carragher; brother and sister-in-law, Austin and Theresa McQuaid.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home until Monday at a time to be announced, then transferred to St. Ann’s Church, Emyvale, for funeral mass at a time to be announced. Interment in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Kelly’s Cross Flower Garden in Memory of Gerald Tierney would be appreciated.
