It is with broken hearts , we the family of Elizabeth Jane Leyte, wish to announce her passing at the age of 18, on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in North Sydney, Elizabeth was the daughter of Jacob and Valerie (Brown) Leyte.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Harry Leyte and maternal grandparents, Amelia and John Brown.
In her 18 short years, Elizabeth inspired everyone she came in contact with. She was her mother’s best friend and was always Daddy’s little girl. Everyone Elizabeth knew will always have beautiful memories of how she touched their lives. Her wit was only outdone by her determination to complete everything she started, including her high school prom and graduation at Memorial High School in June 2013. Elizabeth was an avid reader, she loved parties with family and friends, she loved shopping and the occasional meal at the Bonnie with Aunt Paulette and Kelly. In warmer weather she especially enjoyed going to Aunt Alice and Uncle Bob’s pool. Elizabeth loved to bake cookies with best friend Kristy Grant.
Valerie and Jacob would like to thank Dr. Andrew Lynk for his ongoing medical care and also the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Staff, especially Tracey Salt. Special thanks to Cape Breton District School Board for their assistance in Elizabeth's homeschooling and for the countless hours of friendship shared between Elizabeth and her teachers.
There will be no visitation by request. The family will receive visitors at the family home, 18 Stanley St., North Sydney. A funeral service for Elizabeth will be held 3 p.m., Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church with Rev. Carl Fraser officiating.
