Daniel “Gordon” Cameron, 85 of West Side Road, East River St. Mary’s, passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2013.
Born in Green’s Brook, he was a son of the late Donald and Nellie (Cameron) Cameron.
Gordon was a faithful member of the Zion Presbyterian Church where he served on the Board of Managers and was a Sunday School teacher. Gordon was known for his strong work ethic. In his earlier working years, Gordon and his brothers operated Cameron Bros. Ltd., a forestry operation. Gordon enjoyed working his land in forestry, gardening, farming cattle and blueberries.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 60 years Anna (Greene), a son Kevin Cameron, New Glasgow; daughters Kaye (Jim) Barbour, New Glasgow; Margie (Brian) MacCallum, New Glasgow; Rosanna (Stephen) Greene, East River St. Mary’s; grandchildren: Jamie (Alicia) Barbour, Michael Barbour, Maranda and Corey MacCallum, Kristen, Colin and Kayla Greene.
Gordon was predeceased by infant children Grace Ann and Daniel William, a sister Katherine, brothers: Arnold, Henry and Stanley.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday from the Zion Presbyterian Church, East River St. Mary’s with Rev. Gail Johnson-Murdock presiding. Burial will take place in the Valley View Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Gordon may be made to the Zion Presbyterian Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
