Kathleen “Kay” O’Hara Sweeney passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2013 in the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
She was born April 24, 1912 in Eureka, a daughter of the late Aubrey and Harriet (Schrader) O’Hara.
She is survived by her sister Jean English, California; sister-in-law Helen O’Hara, Gatineau, Quebec; and locally by a niece Frances McCarron, Trenton; as well as several nieces and nephews in Quebec and various areas of the USA. She is also survived by a longtime special friend Mary Kay (Carter) Fraser, Trenton.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Jack Sweeney, sisters: Hilda, Mabel and Frances; brothers: Carl, Arthur, Roy, Merle, Lester, and John in infancy.
Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service at will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Tonks officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
