Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday, October 2, 2008, of Velma (Val) Parsons (nee Hulse) formerly of Montreal and Aurora, Ontario, age 91 years. Dear mother of Jim (Cathy), North Rustico; Bob (Elgin), California; and Alan (Nancy), Ontario. Grandmother of Ian (Kim), California. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry, and by her sister, Margaret Astill-Walmsley. Survived by her sister, Hazel Stathdee, Texas. She is fondly remembered by her stepgrandchildren and their families in Ontario; by her Nova Scotia stepgrandson, Rev. Steven Longmoore (Rev. Amanda); by her P.E.I. step-grandson, Doug Longmoore (Tammy); and by several nieces and nephews. Resting at the Belvedere Funeral Home for visitation Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Val's remains will be scattered with her husband's at a later date in Elgin Mills Cemetery, Toronto.
