It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend, Shirley on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late William Wall, Rita (Wall) Sampson and stepfather, Robert Sampson. Also predeceased by brothers, Billy and Charlie, son, Paul Francis in infancy, husband, Tommy McCormick, and her beloved dog, Benji.
She is survived by sisters, Marie, Joan, Brenda, Mary and Pam; brothers, Richard, Lorne, John, Bob and Earl; stepchildren, Gail, Wanda, Billy, Tommy and Denise; brother-in-law, Rick Stewart; companion, Freddy 'Butch' Leon; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at 10 a.m. with a reception to follow, both at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Fr. James Oliver officiating.
Shirley's wit, humour and bubbly personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
