The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, of Mary Ida May Croken (nee Gaudet) of Summerside, aged 83 years. Ida was born on May 12, 1930, in Miscouche, to her late parents Anthony and Eliza (nee Gallant) Gaudet. Beloved wife of the late Louis J. Croken and loving mother of Diane Croken, Maureen (Michael) Sansano and Lois Croken all of Toronto, ON. Ida was predeceased by her son Neil Croken and daughter Janet Smith. Also lovingly remembered by her 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Edna Haining, Clarence Gaudet, Rose (Gary) Acheson, Joseph Gaudet, Delima Vatamaniuck, Martin Gaudet, Loretta Gaudet, Clifford Gaudet, Edith (Wayne) MacDonald and Linda (Ken) Sterling, and also brother-in-law James Wyatt and sister-in-law Marjorie Gaudet. Besides her parents, husband and children, Ida was predeceased by her sisters Loraine Wyatt and Nell (Carl) Fitzpatrick, brother Leo Gaudet, sister-in-law Audrey Gaudet and brother-in-law Fred Haining. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Thursday, Nov. 28, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche, for a funeral mass at 2 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Ida's memory may be made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
