It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dora Catherine Green announce her peaceful passing surrounded by her loving family at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility on Thursday, November 28, 2013 in her 81st year. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, her daughters: Dorothy (Wilfred) George, Mildred (William Lynch) and Joan (Robert) O’Keefe; sons: William Greene (Jocelyn), Peter Greene (Tina Keeping), Anthony Greene (Karen Atkinson), Bruce Greene (Denise); grandchildren: Julie Ann George, Dwayne (Sherry) George, Connie Young (Kenneth) Jason Dennis (Robin Gallant), Jacqueline Lynch, Angela Lynch, Trina Kelly (Steve), Terri Greene (Dane Gosse) and Lisa O’Keefe, Jackie Greene, Shauna Greene, Samantha Greene, Jordan Greene; great-grandchildren: Brittany George, Kaitlin George, Jeremy Dennis, Brayden Lynch, Courtnee Perrett, Klaudia George, Jessica Kelly, Peyton O’Keefe, Zackery George, Ethan (Billy Jack) Greene, Leya Dennis; brothers: Arthur Vincent, Russell (Melinda) Vincent, Ivan (Linda) Vincent, William (Eileen) Vincent, Roland (Ann) Vincent and Don (Ann) Vincent; son-in-law, David Dennis; daughter-in-law, Roella Pennell. She also leaves to mourn with pleasant memories, a large number of nieces and nephews and leaving with special thoughts, a close circle of bingo and card playing friends. She was predeceased by her husband, William; sons: Archibald, Terrence, Elvis and daughter, Rose Dennis; her parents, Augustus and Veronica (Sheppard) Vincent; brother, Joseph and sisters: Doris Jones (Kevin) and Evelyn Carroll (Patrick); sister-in-law, Christina Vincent and great-grandson Lucas Dennis. Friends and family may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, on Saturday, November 30, 2013 and Sunday, December 1, 2013 between the hours 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, December 2, 2013 from the Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Benoits Cove, at 2:00 p.m. with Father Maurice O’Quinn officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, the family respectfully asks that no flowers be sent; however, a donation in our mother’s name may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea’s Cemetery Fund. We wish to extend a sincere thank you to all of the staff of the 2nd Floor of the Long Term Care, many of whom will remember Mother’s unique wit and charm. Mother looked forward to seeing her “angel”, as she called each and every one of you. Also a heartfelt thank you to Sister Donna Kelly, Fr. Maurice O’Quinn and Rev. Russell, who visited and prayed with our mother.
