It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rodena 'Rhoda' MacAulay on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Mira Bay, Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.
Born in Framboise, Richmond Co., she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (MacInnis) Morrison.
Rhoda was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church. She also enjoyed membership in the UCW, Ashby Guild, Rebekah Lodge and Home and School Association.
She is survived by her sons, Gordon and Darrell, Sydney; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother, Murdock Morrison, Thunder Bay, Ont.
Besides her parents, Rhoda was predeceased by her husband of 74 years, Hector, four sons, Donald, John, Ken and Philip, three daughters, Barbara, Lorraine and Norma, three brothers, Donald John, Kenny Angus and John J., and three sisters, Jessie, Mary Jane and Malena Amero.
A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery at a later date.
We cannot thank the staff of Mira Bay, Harbourstone enough for their love and care of our mother over the years.
