The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, of Clarisse Alice DesRoches (nee Poirier), formerly of Miscouche, age 99 years. Clarisse was born on March 27, 1909, to her late parents, Arsene and Bernadette Poirier. Beloved wife of the late Tilman S. DesRoches and loving mother of Lionel (Marie) of Miscouche, Armand (Judy) of Charlottetown and Claudette (Jim) Cramm of Miscouche. Survived by her brothers, Gerard Poirier of Miscouche and Jules Poirier of Calgary, Alta. Also lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Clarisse was predeceased by her daughter, Louise; her brothers, Albert, Paul and Nazaire; and her sisters, Alvina, Lucille, Louise, Virginia, Eunice and Juilette. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Friday, October 10, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Clarisse’s memory to the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund or to St. John the Baptist Church Restoration Fund would be greatly appreciated.
