November 6, 1929 – December 6, 2013.
Passed away peacefully in North Bay, ON, on December 6, 2013 at the age of 84 years.
Joan was one of five children of Francis and Walter Hennessey and grew up in her beloved Charlottetown.
Beloved mother of Paul, Elizabeth, Noella (Doyle Anthony) and Jerry. She is survived by her sister, Etta (Alfred Arsenault-deceased).
Predeceased by husband, Charlie McKeigan; daughter-in-law, Leslie Hickey; sisters, Gertrude Manning (John) and Rita Campbell (Cyril); brother, Joseph (Shirley-surviving) and Gerald Hickey (first husband).
Joan valued the love of her family and friends above all else. Her grandchildren Connor, Amy, Doyle, Brad and Dustin were her pride and joy. She will always hold a special place in their hearts. She was a most wonderful aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and she treasured her many lifelong friends.
Family will be receiving friends at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer on Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the many that provided care this past year at Charlottetown’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Dr. Shetty, and North Bay’s Regional Health Centre – especially the nurses on A1 and Dr. Ian Cowan.
