The death occurred peacefully, with family by her side, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, of Stella Grant (nee Peters), of Oyster Bed Bridge, age 83.
Stella was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Henry Grant. She was the loving mother of Owen (Tim Murray), Gail Swiat (Richard), Joan Palmer (Rod), Kathy McDonald (Len), Cindy Grant (Michael Arsenault) and Kim McKnight (Shawn). She was the beloved grandmother of Tammy Swiat-Cyr; Drew Rochester; Kelly and Jessica McDonald; Julia, Zachary and Melanie Arsenault; and Daegan and Teague McKnight; and great-grandmother of Jeffery and Katie Swiat-Cyr. Stella is also survived by her brother, Alfred Peters; and sisters, Anita Doucette (Eric), Gloria Primeau and May Coffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Henry, Stella was predeceased by her parents, Napoleon and Julia (Doucette) Peters; her brothers, Edgar, Ferdie, Louis and Arthur; and sisters, Alice Mathews and Regina Blacquière.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Rd., New Glasgow, for visitation on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, South Rustico, on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Augustine’s Church Cemetery. Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
