WHITE, VERA GWENNIE - The passing of Vera Gwennie White, wife of the late William M. White, occurred peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Paradise Villa. Born on November 14, 1927 in Musgravetown, NL, she was the youngest daughter of the late Captain Samuel Ford and Captain Elizabeth Ford (nee Dawe), of the Salvation Army Church. Vera is survived by her sister, Dorothy Ford; daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” Warr (Donald); sons, Ralph White, Roger White, Carl White (Marina), Duncan White (Susan) and Darroch White (Tamara); grandchildren, Catherine VanEsbroeck (Jeremy), Aaron Warr, Jillian Warr, April White (Paul), Ashley White, Michael White (Shinyoung), Edward White and Melanie White; great- grandchildren, Gwendolyn and Nicole VanEsbroeck; daughter-in-laws, Evone White and Barbara Fudge and extended family, Edward and Dorothy Slaney.
A Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 12 to 2 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm with Pastor Chris Bennett and Rev. Ray Hinchey officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Matthew’s United Church Cemetery, Lewisporte, NL. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
