It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and brother, Alex MacIsaac on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at the Celtic Court, Piper Lane.
Born in East Bay, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (MacDonald) MacIsaac.
He was an electrician by trade and work at the Sydney Steel for 38 years before retiring. Alex enjoyed gardening, swimming and taking the kids camping in his younger years. He will be missed.
Alex is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sheila (Smith); his children, Donna (Max) Brocklehurst, Edmonton, Allan (Maddy), Toronto, Robert (Jill), Florida, Sheila (John) Hall, Sydney; nine wonderful grandchildren and 12 precious great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Theresa (Don) MacPherson, Bedford, and Helen (Lloyd) Reid, Sarnia, Ont., as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Marlene (2007), sisters, Mary and Margaret, brothers, Joseph and Daniel.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at St. Anthony Daniel Church, Sydney, with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Interment at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of Celtic Court for their outstanding care and compassion given to Alex during his stay there.
