Jane Florence Willett, 97, of Seaview Manor, Glace Bay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at the Manor.
Born in Louisbourg, she was the daughter of the late George and Selena (McGillivray) Willett.
Jane worked in the housecleaning department at Bethany Retreat Centre, Antigonish, for over 25 years. She loved doing crossword puzzles. Jane was a devout Catholic and loved her church dearly. She was a very compassionate and gentle lady.
At the time of her death, Jane was surrounded by the caring and compassionate staff at Seaview Manor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jane was predeceased by three sisters, Ada, Elizabeth, Grace and five brothers, Lawrence, Bob, Bill, George and Fred.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at a later date in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Fr. Leo Boone will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Glace Bay.
As an expression of sympathy for Jane, memorial donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice or Seaview Manor, Glace Bay.
