CORMIER, ELIZA - Eliza Cormier, 82, of the Villa Providence, Shediac and formerly of Grand-Barachois, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born on March 9, 1931 in Barachois, she was the daughter of the late Clément and Sara (Breau) Leger. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Consumer Glass in Scoudouc. Eliza was an avid bingo player, loved music and fishing. She is survived by five daughters: Rosella Breau (Arsène) and Paulette Surette (Gilles) all of Grand-Barachois, Rachel Duguay (Joe) and Jeannine Cormier (Daniel Deraps) all of Saint-Raphaël-sur-Mer and Noëlla Duguay (Gerald) of Tracadie; six sons: Paul-Émile (Simone Breau), Daniel and Donald all of Cap-Pelé, Edgar (Donna) of Haute-Aboujagane, Pierre (Georgette) of St-André-LeBlanc and Jean of Petit-Cap; one brother, Raymond Leger of Grand-Barachois; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Cormier; second husband, Ola Cormier; two sisters: Yvonne and Alice; five brothers: Léo, Laurie, Eloie, Ulysse and Francis.
As per her wishes, there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint-Henri R.C. Church in Barachois on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Barachois parish cemetery. In memory of Eliza, a contribution to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New-Brunswick would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Frenette Funeral Center, Shediac.
