born St. John's 1936, living in Gander, passed peacefully away surrounded by loving family on March 12, 2008 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander. Predeceased by his parents James and Kathleen, and brother Allan. Leaving to mourn with wonderful memories his loving and devoted wife of 49 years Ida; two daughters Rhonda (Bernie) and Sharon (Rob); two sons Derek and Glenn (Kim); four grandchildren Andy (Cori), Michael, Ryan, and Brenden; and one great-grandchild Kailyn. Also leaving to mourn sister Sandra Tobin (Kenneth), St. John's; three brothers Peter (Hilda), Cambridge; Edward (Dorothy), St. John's and Frank (Joan), Winnipeg. Also mourning an extended group of family and friends. With special thanks to Dr. St. Croix, the nurses and staff at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, the medical team and nurses at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre in St. John's and Gander, and the nurses and health care professionals in the Health Sciences Centre all of whom showed unending compassion and care during the past three years of this courageous battle with illness. Resting peacefully at Stacey's Funeral Home in Gander.
